Student Tie-Breaker Procedure: In the event that more than one eligible Entrant ties as a Potential Winner, a six-step tie-breaker procedure (the “Tie-Breaker”) will be used as follows to determine the winner(s): (1) the Entrant that submitted a student video will be deemed the winner; (2) if a tie still remains, the Entrant that participated in the most Contest Challenges will be deemed the winner; (3) if a tie still remains, the Entrant that participated in the week one Contest Challenge will be deemed the winner; (4) if a tie still remains, the Entrant that earned the most referral points will be deemed the winner; (5) if a tie still remains, the Entrant that earned the most points completing the week 8 Contest Challenge will be deemed the winner; and (6) if a tie still remains, Sponsor will convene a panel of no less than three (3) neutral judges who will evaluate the tied Entrants' student videos and select a winner based on the video that best reflects the following criteria: creativity, design elements, relevant subject matter and overall quality of the student video. Any Entrant that ties as a Potential Winner, but does not win the prize for which he or she is tied, will be eligible to win any other, remaining prizes using the same “Tie-Breaker” procedure as defined above to break any additional ties. In no way will Sponsor award more than the number of prizes as defined above under the “Student Prize Winner Determinations” section.
Each Potential Winner will be notified by email or phone after selection. If a Potential Winner of any prize cannot be contacted, or if they or their parent or guardian fails to sign and return the Affidavit of Eligibility, Liability and Publicity Release within the required time period, that Potential Winner will be disqualified and forfeits the prize. The prize will also be forfeited if the prize cannot be delivered to the address provided by the Potential Winner. Winners will be announced at www.jointheshift.org, just look for the "winners" link.
